From my research, I learnt that most projects in Africa never take off because of the following reasons:

  1. Some owners are not organized.
  2. Paperwork which is strictly demanded by most financiers is not available.
  3. Some owners of projects cannot afford to pay professionals who would otherwise have helped them get prepared.
  4. Feasibility Studies are very expensive and most project owners can’t afford them.
  5. Most Finance Boutiques or Consultants with expertise and useful funding sources demand upfront fees that project owners cannot afford.
  6. There are some project owners who can afford to pay upfront fees, however they are afraid to part with the money due to past experiences.

If we can find a solution for these issues I have listed above, there would be a lot of funding opportunities in Africa.
