A few days ago, someone from Germany who is interested in doing business in Uganda called and asked me the reasons as to why he would rather use my services rather depending on his Embassy in Kampala.
This is what I told him:

  1. I have a business background and therefore I can comfortably relate with a foreigner looking for business in Uganda or anywhere in East Africa
  2. I was born in Africa, I have lived for many years in Europe and one time I stayed and worked in Japan. I believe my personal long life experience, travels, global exposure and knowledge which I have acquired over the years can be beneficial to others who are interested in partnering with me to do business in the East African Region.
  3. Most Embassy salaried staff work from 0900 to 0500 during weekdays. I am flexible and open for business 24/7 if I am not sleeping or busy.
  4. Some of the Embassy staff are also foreigners with little knowledge about local people, business opportunities, about best strategies for winning business, local customs/cultures, and general life. I cant claim to know everything but even when I don’t know something, I know where to source accurate helpful information or whom to approach for assistance.
  5. Embassy staff have standard procedures and rules which they follow while offering services. I am flexible and my flexibility is necessary for business.
